An award-winning interior architecture and design concept was conceived when a suburban couple purchased 4,000 square feet of raw space above Chicago’s spectacular Millennium Park. The stunning views and coveted location mesmerized the couple; however, they were indifferent about the proposed layout. The developer referred JRWD to the new homeowners as specialists in space planning, material specification, and creating detailed construction documents that would flawlessly reflect their taste. The design team’s modified layout featured a spacious family room, custom kitchen, elegant library, exquisite his/hers baths, and abundant storage. As the general contractor for the project, JRWD installed the architectural and decorative finishes and a warm floor heating system to enable traditional window treatments to hang to the ground. Furnishings were selected to enrich the interior design concept and establish the foundation for a prestigious art and antiques collection that was researched and developed by JRWD. This home won the Gold Key Award for “Excellence In Housing Design” by the Home Builder’s Association of Greater Chicago in 2007 and first place in the American Society of Interior Designers’ “Residential Tile Design” category in 2008. | |
