SKY PALACE

Since 1991, John Robert Wiltgen has accompanied his clients on a diverse journey of residential discovery, from a skyscraper in the city to the shores of Michigan, to a tropical beach, to the suburbs and back to the high-rise life. This modern penthouse adeptly integrates aspects of their life from their other homes with impeccable style.

Foyer

The dramatic curved foyer serves as a gallery for six Andy Warhol serigraphs expressing the family’s distinctive personality. Since they entertain often, high top tables are frequently set up in this fashionable space where guests can enjoy cocktails and appetizers.

Credenza

The natural textures of this exotic cabinet veneered in horn and bone, perfectly complement the architectural finishes. (The sculptural white bronze vessel was obtained from a Los Angeles antiques dealer.)

Living Room

“Everyone wants to be in this room,” says Wiltgen. The compelling view of the Chicago skyline is so powerful; off white was the only logical color for the architecturally inspired furnishings. Fully automated draperies and lighting customize the environment.

Living Room w/Piano

The entry to the living room features a baby grand piano the family has enjoyed for years.

Dining Room

A Macassar Ebony table, buffets with lacquered drawers and buttery soft leather chairs create an elegant dining experience, designed by Wiltgen for their prior residence.

Terrace

Panoramic scenes from the two terraces of this residence are as impressive as the family’s collection of contemporary art and furnishings creating the experience of being enveloped by the city.
