MODERN MASTERPIECE

A couple selected John Robert Wiltgen Design because of the firm’s extensive working knowledge of the building. JRWD reviewed architectural layouts for the entire building, created and installed three model apartments, and designed the lobby and common areas.

The client’s exceptional collection of contemporary art drove all decisions, keeping furnishings minimal so they wouldn’t appear more important.

Living Room

Adjacent to this stylish space is a 400 square foot landscaped terrace with built-in seating.

Living Room-Art Detail

Each Andy Warhol print is beautifully illuminated by a separate ceiling mounted framing projector. Beneath the art, the built-in console conceals electronic entertainment equipment and a wireless computer monitor that controls the home’s lighting, sound, heating, cooling and security systems.

Fireplace

Responsible for space planning and construction throughout, JRWD created a sleek see-through fireplace to provide a wall for the TV in the living room and for art on the dining room side.

Powder Room

JRWD carved out space for objects d’art and heightened the drama of the first level powder room by eliminating an existing shower and installing a floating granite countertop with a wall mounted faucet.

Dining Room

The kitchen was moved from the developer’s original plan to create this gracious dining room. Exotic Santos mahogany floors are used throughout for a rich, yet minimal look.

Kitchen

Professional style stainless steel appliances and extensive storage make this kitchen perform for its connoisseur owners. The breakfast table is centered on the window to maximize the urban view.

Master Bedroom

The developer’s original floor plan had a hallway separating the master bedroom and closet. JRWD eliminated the hallway, redesigning the room to produce a spacious sanctuary overlooking the terrace.

The subtle combination of luxurious materials, such as leather and zebrawood enhance the contemporary art.

His Bath

His bath was sculpted from a small sitting room adjacent to the master bedroom. The result is a luxurious space with a walk through shower that precedes the tub. This bath also includes a closet with a microwave, coffee maker and under counter refrigerator.

Her Bath

There was a hallway between the exterior windows & interior bathroom. Glass block was added to her bathroom to allow natural light to enter. Polished concrete counter tops provide the ultimate in easy care surfaces.

Sitting Room

This sitting room is a multi-purpose area that works as a home office, casual space for watching TV or a guest room. The natural cherry built-in storage holds entertainment equipment, as well as the owner's extensive collection of Native American ceramics.
