PRESENT DAY PALLADIO

These clients encountered John Robert Wiltgen Design surfing the Web. The first time they met they expressed specific wishes; a large kitchen open to the family room, a formal dining room and a three car garage hidden from the street. For the second floor they imagined a spectacular master suite, spacious guest quarters and room for kids. Initially asking for a Miami Beach style Art Deco façade Wiltgen encouraged them to keep an open mind. The result is a structure reminiscent of the classical look pioneered 500 years ago by one of the world's most influential architects, Andrea Palladio. A home elegantly sparse in its simplicity, a concept that carries through to the strong contemporary interior the owners sought.

Front Façade

Classic lines were achieved in the front elevation by blending three distinctive masonry textures. From the street, the right hand portion of the elegant home conceals the garage.

Entry Gallery

An entry gallery leads to the light infused stair hall illuminated by glass brick that rises from the foundation. The glass enclosed stairway features luxurious, low maintenance materials.

Family Room

A Frank Gallo paper sculpture shares the family room with a colorful resin triptych. Dark green draperies create depth and continuity throughout the dining room, breakfast and family rooms, which all open to an expansive above ground terrace and in ground pool.

Kitchen-View from Family Room

A spacious island separates the kitchen from the family room. Equipped with a 36-inch TV and state of the art entertainment equipment; it’s just steps away from the breakfast and dining room. Mid century style swivel chairs provide flexible, comfortable seating and views of the television, original artwork and in ground pool.

Kitchen-Counter Seating

An artful combination of materials includes granite counter tops, stainless steel trim, maple cabinetry and avocado green glass tile mixed with Crema Marfil marble, creating an energizing atmosphere with streamlined detail.

Master Bath

The master bath and dressing room, the size of a three car garage, is actually located above the garage.

Heated floors provide comfort, the huge mirror above the vanity reflects the fireplace and a painting cleverly conceals the TV. The couture window dressings are finished with an artistic use of more than 350 wooden buttons along their side panels.
