Winning Development!
|

When
the developers of the Royalton Towers decided to build 55 luxury
condominiums on top of an old parking garage in the Old Town
neighborhood, they commissioned the award winning team of designer's
from John Robert Wilgen Design, Inc. to create the decor for
the model apartment, sales center, lobby and common areas.
The
challenge that faced designers was how to integrate the ambience
of this new structure with the warmth and charm of this landmark
status neighborhood. Much consideration was given to the solution
and ultimately John Robert Wiltgen Design was awarded both a
Sammy Award and a Gold Key Award for housing design excellence
by the Home Builder's Association of Greater Chicago.

The furniture and furnishings in this combination
living / dining room reflect the landmark status of the Old
Town neighborhood. A rich blend of guilded wood, metal, glass,
granite and the silk and tapestry-like fabrics were selected
to appeal to upper bracket buyers.

In the living room, a signature element of
the designers includes a hinged painting which conceals the
television above the ventless gas fireplace.

The furniture selection for this model home
included several very special antiques, including this fabulous
commode with bronze ormalu trim and marble top, to create memorable
drama and emphasize the developer's attention to detail and
quality. The team of designer's at JRWD often combine a variety
of period pieces with contemporary elements to create interiors
that are unforgettable.

The team of designers at John Robert Wiltgen
Design, Inc. created an intimate sitting area in the second
bedroom, located off of the foyer, centered around an antique
French walnut bookcase by combining dramatic contemporary pieces
with traditional styled upholstery. This combination of furniture
and furnishings were chosen to create an ambiance that would
reflect the charm of the historic Old Town neighborhood and
appeal to buyers in the upper bracket.

The furniture and furnishings in the Master
Bedroom were selected to look like family heirlooms; pieces
that had either been handed down from one generation to another
or collected over the years. The designers did not want this
Model to look as if it had been instantly decorated without
regard to the personalities of potential residents.
