| When
American Invsco, one of the Nations largest condominium
developers, included six Sky View Homes to its 57-story luxury
complex, Millennium Centre, they relied on the space planning
and design expertise of the international award-winning firm
of John Robert Wiltgen Design, Inc. to create the interior architectural
details and finish specifications for theses exquisite residences.
Prices start at $2.4 million. |
THE
RESIDENCES AT MILLENNIUM CENTRE
Solomon,
Cordwell and Buenz were the architects for the project. They
positioned the 5,000 square foot Sky View Homes, on the 15th
floor roof atop the commercial space. Privileged residents will
have breathtaking views, first-rate security, and outstanding
amenities.
In
addition to creating the architectural space plan and dramatic
kitchen and baths JRWD also created a complete interior design
concept which is showcased in a 9 minute virtual tour. One of
a kind antiques, museum quality artwork and accessories, as
well as the finest contemporary furniture and furnishings are
featured in this home.

This 300-square-foot outdoor terrace, facing west, is 15 floors
above street level and the backyard to some of the most majestic
views of the city of Chicago. |
 |
The
enormous great room on the first level features two plush eight-foot-long
sofas grouped around an inlaid marble top cocktail table. A
rare Roualt print is placed above an antique Biedermeier chest.
A Nechita original painting is displayed to the left of the
windows. City views provide another form of art - Chicago's
constantly changing color palette. |
 |
The
fireplace wall is fabricated in exotic Zebrawood veneers and
combed bronze panels which conceal a state-of-the-art 42-inch
flat screen TV, activated by the touch of a remote control. |
 |
A
mercury glass dining table is paired with an antique buffet,
alabaster chandelier and eight fabulous dining chairs. The painting
by Chicago artist, Laurie Hogan, is a dramatic backdrop for
discerning hosts who enjoy elegant entertaining at home. |
 |
The
kitchen opens to the living and dining areas, therefore, the
team of designers selected exotic Zebrawood veneers replicating
the look of fine furniture. The floors and all architectural
trim are Wenge. Ceilings soar to 11 feet. Wall-hung cabinetry
includes 42-inch-high uppers topped by a row of 24-inch-high
cabinets. Some cabinetry is open, illuminated with concealed
halogen lighting, to highlight the owner's art. Concealed and
recessed lighting is provided under and over cabinetry. |
 |
The
graciously proportioned foyer, large enough to entertain guests,
features this custom staircase sculpted from bronze, steel and
milk glass which is dramatically set against the fantastic Chicago
skyline views and the residents favored art pieces. The stair
stringer conceals fiber optic lighting which casts a soft glow
in this three story area. |
 |
The
eclectic master bedroom comfortably marries contemporary furnishings
with antiques. Pair of period Biedermeier Yew wood commodes
display delicate rock crystal table lamps. The sleigh bed is
made from Macassar ebony wood veneers. The room faces west,
providing breathtaking views of the city and romantic sunsets. |
 |
Roman
glass, dating back to the second century, adorns the top of
a Biedermeier table. An antique Italian bibliotheque is displayed
against a mirrored wall and filled with rare books and objects
d'art acquired by the residents during travels abroad. |
 |
The
master bath features an antique French Art Deco mirrored vanity,
multicolored patterned stone floor (a JRWD trademark) and sophisticated
lighting featuring decorative sconces, a period French glass
pendant fixture from the '30's, and recessed lights. |
 |
This
antique French Deco mirrored make-up table inspired the detailing
for the vanity and mirrored tub apron which complements the
multicolored stone floor. An etching from the Picasso Vollard
Suite hangs above the whirlpool tub. |
 |
The
sculptural staircase soars to this sky-home's third floor and
is illuminated by an overhead skylight. Surrounding windows
provide postcard-like views of the city. Two 24-foor Royal Palm
trees soften the approach to the atrium on the top floor. |

 |
The
top floor atrium offers sensational daytime and evening views
of Chicago's skyline. Skylight and floor-to-ceiling windows
allows the sunlight to flood the space. The atrium serves as
a sitting room for the two guest bedroom suites.
