Award Winning Development!

Emerald Condominiums

Chicago architects Pappageorge Haymes, Ltd. positioned the buildings to take advantage of world-class city views that never stop for this joint venture of Senco Properties, Harlem Irving Companies and New Frontier Companies.

The John Robert Wiltgen Design team introduced 2 popular sustainable materials such as bamboo flooring (a standard feature of all of the residences) and terrazzo-like flooring made from recycled glass for the lobby floors and countertops. Their sumptuous 8,000 square foot club-style lobby is planned as an extension of residents homes with gracious entertaining and efficient business suites and a street-level state-of-the-art fitness center.

The complete JRW concept for Emerald is showcased in the enclosed virtual tour highlighting first floor details ranging from custom lighting to Green Guard certified furniture and fabrics. For a copy of the Emerald DVD Tour, please contact John Robert Wiltgen Design, Inc., 312-744-1151. Residences are projected to close in the second quarter of 2008.

``Green’’ on Green Street was the motivation for Emerald, a pair of 12 story concrete, steel and glass towers that will bring 212 new homes to Chicago’s revitalized West Loop. Emerald’s development team reached out to John Robert Wiltgen design to create its Home Sales Center and set standards for the fashionable, eco-friendly complex. The Wiltgen team created a sumptuous 8,000 square foot atrium lobby, the city’s largest. Geared to young urban dwellers, prices for one and two bedroom homes range from the mid-$200,000’s to the high $300,000’s.

Mellow bamboo flooring (wood that is renewed within five years of harvest) contrasts with the ``in’’ citrus color scheme of Emerald’s open design kitchens, A 42-inch breakfast bar, stainless steel (or granite) countertops and matching appliances coordinate with flat panel cabinets. Or upgrade to Wiltgen -designed custom lacquer finishes in dramatic colors not available elsewhere in the Chicago area. Each Emerald home includes a balcony, some have two.

Deep soaking tubs invite pampering while enjoying the flat panel TV (not just the hookup) that’s an Emerald standard. Most baths include a double bowl vaity and separate shower as well.

The custom-made chandelier the designers chose for Emerald’s well appointed lobby will take more than one year to manufacture. Fashioned of shimmering silk it will be suspended from a circular, stepped tray ceiling, backlit with concealed LED (light emitting diodes) lighting.

The JRW Design team chose earth-friendly finishes for the luscious lobby - bamboo veneer for the reception desk; concrete and recycled glass for countertops - recycled glass terrazzo for the patterned floor - glamorous, recycled polyester upholstery. A sophisticated lighting system features floor-embedded uplights and concealed units that glaze a textured wall behind the doorman’s station.

Intended for residents and their guests, Club Emerald is a stylish bar that emulates the urban club scene. HOT by today’s trendy standards, it features an eclectic, though environmentally friendly, ambiance. A full kitchen is a welcome bonus space. The place is LIVE and it will be available for private affairs as well.

Emerald’s board room gets right down to business. The custom-designed conference table is a work of art. It seats up to a dozen people. Dramatic lighting and a fireplace add flair to a business meeting or just quiet time to trek the web.

The Green Room was planned to heighten residents’ and their guests’ social life. It’s a mega living room with inviting upholstered chairs and sofas. A place for just kickin’ it or checking out ``movie night’’ around the flat screen TV. It’s equipped with a tight surround sound system, of course.

Light boxes (backlit with concealed LEDs) wash the corridor leading to the North Tower’s elevator bank with color that can be changed to fit either the season or the mood.
