CHICAGO PLACE

This 205-unit high rise was originally designed as rentals and in 1990, marketed as condominiums.  The first models, designed by a different firm, were not helping the staff sell.  John Robert Wiltgen Design revised the space plan of specific units so they reflected the same gracious qualities as their competition on Michigan Avenue.  Innovative solutions included moving walls, installing exquisite inlaid marble and granite floors, moving a windowless master bath for city views, adding roomy walk in closets, steam showers, custom designed doors and walls and providing additional storage space.  Five models were installed over a four-year period; two models sold completely furnished. One tier, considered the least desirable, sold out in three months.  These luxury condominiums sold for $498,000 - $1.6M.  The result was $92 million in sales for Brookfield Development.  John Robert Wiltgen Design also created individual residences for 17 Chicago Place owners.
